Builds Guide - Warrior, Mage and the Ring Pair
Crawler 3D build guide: Warrior vs Mage vs both, the six parent stats, ring pairs that cover them, the skill spiral, and the four Supers — how the systems click into a build.
Quick Answer: Warrior or Mage in Crawler 3D?
The official description says "Be a Warrior or a Mage or both!" — and the build systems support all three answers. Warriors build around SP and melee weapons behind a blocking shield; Mages build around MP, wands and the spell toolkit; hybrids split the difference and cover more fight types. The honest launch-data verdict: melee wins boss duels, spells win packs and open maps, and the game is short enough to respect both bars on one character.
The Six Parent Stats and the Ring Pair
Rings are the build's skeleton: two equipped rings can cover all six parent stats (Sixfold Band, 4.5%). The stat panel in-game names the six; the build rule is coverage without overlap — each ring half covers a different half. Ring sources: vendor stock, drops, and guaranteed quest pickups (the caldera gold ring). Re-roll your pair whenever coverage gaps show up in fights — a missing stat reads as a specific death, not a general weakness.
The Skill Spiral
The skill tree is literally a spiral of nodes (the official screenshots show the UI), and Tip of the Spiral (10 nodes, 22.9%) is the first milestone on it. Nodes spend level-ups into the stats and proficiencies the store description promises — "shape your build through stats, proficiencies, and a skill tree". Spiral order is a build decision: follow your weapon line's SP/MP costs, and the tenth node lands naturally by the mid-game areas.
The Four Supers
Exactly four Supers exist (Fourfold, 2.2% for all four). They are the fight-changers above the spell layer — Fireball burns for 3 a turn, Freeze Ball freezes, Wound Reversal returns 19% of damage as HP, and the Supers top that. The build rule: spread the four across the roles your rings do not cover, and save them for boss rooms. The quality system applies to the whole kit — Quality 20/20 reads "+10 effect, -10 cost" on the spells too.
Two Worked Builds
Shield-Warrior (the story-clear default): blocking shield (Metal Buckler -60% or Oval -70%), heaviest SP-affordable weapon (Alloy Sword 187 DMG / War Hammer 58 for attrition), ring pair covering defensive stats, Supers banked for bosses. Spellblade (the completionist favorite): best wand (Stone Wand 104 DMG / 20 MP), Fireball + Wound Reversal as the working pair, ring pair covering MP and survival stats, Supers for pack control. Both reach the castle; the walkthrough maps where each shines.
