Crawler 3D FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about the Crawler 3D game.
What is Crawler 3D?
A retro grid-based, turn-based, first-person dungeon crawler by Wasdeq Games, released on Steam for Windows on September 28, 2026. You step tile by tile through ten areas — dungeons, deserts, forests, sewers, a volcano and a cursed castle — fighting corruption with melee, wands and spells, hunting bosses and building your character with rings, a skill spiral and four Supers.
Is Crawler 3D turn-based or real-time?
Turn-based, on a grid. Movement is tile-by-tile WASDEQ stepping, combat runs on a turn counter with order entries, and the HUD tracks HP, SP and MP as three separate pools. The Steam build also ships "Playable without Timed Input" as a store category — nothing rushes you.
How much does Crawler 3D cost?
$7.99 on Steam with a 20% launch discount that made it $6.39 at release (regional equivalents like ¥26.40 apply). It is a premium single purchase — no microtransactions, no battle pass. Check the store page for current pricing; the launch discount was live as of the September 28, 2026 release.
Is there a free demo or trial?
Yes — the official description lists "Free demo available" as a key feature, and the developer's itch.io page carries a browser-playable version of the game. If you are on the fence, the demo is the trial: it runs on the same modest hardware and teaches the same WASDEQ loop.
What platforms is Crawler 3D on?
Windows PC via Steam, with a browser version on the developer's itch.io page. No console or Mac/Linux versions are listed on the store page — the platform block reads Windows only.
What are the system requirements?
Very light: Windows 10, a dual-core 2.5 GHz CPU (Intel i3-8100 / Ryzen 3 1200 class), 4 GB of RAM, a GTX 750 Ti / GTX 1050 / RX 560 or Intel UHD 620 / Iris Xe, and 200 MB of storage. No recommended tier is published — the minimum spec is the spec.
What does WASDEQ mean?
It is the control scheme in six keys: W, A, S and D step your character across the grid one tile per turn, and E and Q complete the left-hand cluster for the most-used actions (the in-game controls screen lists their exact bindings). The store description calls it "classic WASDEQ grid movement" — keyboard-only mode, mouse and game controller support are all confirmed options.
Should I play Warrior or Mage?
Both work — the official description says "Be a Warrior or a Mage or both!". Warriors build around SP and melee behind a blocking shield; Mages build around MP, wands and spells; hybrids cover more fight types. The builds guide has two worked examples; the short version is melee for bosses, spells for packs.
How do rings work?
Rings are the two-slot accessory system: "A Peculiar Little Band — Equip a ring" is the 86.2% first-ring achievement, and "Sixfold Band" confirms two equipped rings can cover all six parent stats. Ring sources include vendor stock, drops and quest pickups — the caldera even has a quest about returning a gold ring.
Does Crawler 3D have New Game+?
Yes — the challenge tier is built on repeat runs: "Return, Bolder" (complete a permanent area on run 2+, 0.1%) and "Monster Hunter" (complete run 2 of every dungeon, 0.1%) are the New Game+ achievements, alongside Veteran difficulty and the arena's boss waves. The store description's "tougher challenges wait for those bold enough to return" is literal.
Does Crawler 3D have multiplayer or co-op?
No — the Steam build is single-player only, and the store's category list confirms it. All the endgame content (Veteran, run 2+, the arena) is designed around one character.
How do I unlock fast travel?
Mine crystals in the Old Mine — "Crystals for a Portal — Unlock fast travel" is the 4.5% achievement. The portal network runs through the Town hub; the Old Mine is a single-floor dive with a LVL 81 Mimic Spider as the toll, so bring full HP/SP/MP.
Are there secrets in Crawler 3D?
Everywhere — secrets are a tracked mechanic: "Hollow Wall — Discover a secret" sits at 81.6%, and "No Stone Unturned — Find every secret on one floor" at 41.3%. Floors carry a visible Secrets counter (3-4 per sub-zone in the official screenshots); sweep the minimap's unexplored pockets near walls.
How long does Crawler 3D take to beat?
No official figure exists. Launch-week data frames it: 2.2% of players had finished the required story within days, level 100 requires 227,145 XP, and the New Game+ achievements sit at 0.1%. A focused story run looks like days of casual play; 100% completion is a second-playthrough project.
Who made Crawler 3D?
Wasdeq Games — the developer and publisher are the same studio (self-published on Steam). They run their own YouTube channel with launch clips, maintain the itch.io page, and note the game is made in Godot with no generative AI assets.
